Demir Energy has an active asset development program that specializes in the enhancement of oil & natural gas production and recoverable reserves of its oil fields through a wide variety of enhanced oil recovery applications.
The Appalachian and Illinois basins are probably the most extensively drilled and mature hydrocarbon basins in the world yet they still have tremendous potential due to the revolutionary technological advancements.
Oil and gas explorer Richard Beardsley calls it the “most drilled and least explored” basin in the world.
Recent oil & natural gas production discoveries hint at the remaining potential of certain regions, including Kentucky. Cumulatively, the basins have produced more than 5 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas yet after more than a century of production, equal or greater quantities of resources are still waiting to be tapped. According to various state and federal agencies, current estimates of remaining technically recoverable resources (including proved reserves) are in the range of 4.8 billion barrels of oil and 79 to 96 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
Advances in drilling and enhanced oil & natural gas recovery techniques allow resources to be identified and produced with lower cost and risk may prove to be particularly valuable in these basins. These untapped resources may now be within economic reach of producers and Demir Energy has secured even stronger positions within these basins after it successfully redeveloped mature oil fields.
